Our Programs

More In My Basket (MIMB) is an NC State Extension program dedicated to reducing food insecurity by connecting North Carolina residents to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or, as it is known in North Carolina, Food Nutrition Services (FNS). Through direct outreach, education and application assistance, MIMB helps individuals and families access the resources they need to maintain a healthy and stable food supply.

Our work extends beyond SNAP application assistance. We offer a variety of programs designed to educate individuals and communities about food budgeting, nutrition and maximizing food resources. Through our partnerships with Extension agents across North Carolina, our tailored programming is delivered at senior centers, food pantries, nonprofits and with community organizations to meet local needs.

MIMB also supports Extension agents and community partners by providing:

  • Training and resources to answer SNAP/FNS-related questions
  • Community workshops and events on food security topics
  • Digital content, blogs and recipes to enhance outreach efforts
